  • Yes I have Mare

  • Please don't approach me in-character, I much prefer to talk about the scenario before we begin.

  • Bisexual

  • I prefer to RP through discord, but I am trying to branch out and do more in-game stuff.

  • If you don't know for sure how I feel about a scenario, please ask.

  • F-list upon request

  • I am willing to RP many scenarios, since I like to try new things. I think it help character growth, as long as the writing is good enough. (aka messages at least longer than a few sentences, preferably a paragraph or two, maybe more) Just be sure to ask about the scenario first, and I will likely say yes.

  • In Need of Healing? Jariq'a is a trained healer, primarily in alchemy and the magic of a Sage, but in other techniques as well. He's traveled widely and practiced many techniques over the years. If he can't heal you, nothing can.

  • Combat Healing Too! Jariq'a's a skilled Sage and spent a lot of time adventuring over the years, so if you happen to need an adventuring partner he's more than capable. Spend some time traveling together! Or maybe you ran into him while already on an adventure?

  • Alchemist by Trade Jariq'a runs a little alchemy shop in Thavnair. If it comes in a bottle, he probably carries it, or he can make it himself! Let's get you supplied with whatever it is you need. This also means he spends a fair bit of his time in Radz-at-Han, so you may be likely to meet him there yourself.

  • Arts Appreciator Having been raised in the performing arts by both of his parents, Jariq'a grew up dancing, singing, and playing various instruments. He no longer performs for audiences, but he still loves to see others perform. Are you a performer he'd go and watch? Or who knows, maybe you could convince him to give you a more private show?

  • Archon Status Jariq'a is a scholar of alchemy in Sharlayan and has even become an archon in recent times. Are you a fellow academic, or someone he's likely to meet in Sharlayan? Or perhaps you need to seek his expertise. Either way, let him offer his assistance, or maybe you could offer yours?

  • Quiet Time Simpler than other options, sometimes he simply likes to post up somewhere with a book, or tea, or simply to relax. Conversation certainly wouldn't be unwelcome.

  • Ul'dah Connections Jariq'a once worked and studied with the Alchemist's Guild. He tends to avoid Ul'dah due to a less-than-stellar history in the city, but one thing he will always return for is when the Guild requests him as a tutor for their newest recruits. Despite differences with the guildmaster.

AU's

  • Addict - A version of Jariq'a who never overcame his addiction to aphrodisiacs. He stayed in Ul'dah after his family returned to Thavnair, prowling the streets. Perhaps you can help him out of it? Or perhaps you can use him like the rest...

  • Forum - A version of Jariq'a who stayed in Sharlayan post-calamity, working his way into the Forum. As such he becomes a respected scholar among the Sharlayans, but grows distant and colder as a consequence of his work, and the secrets he's required to keep.

  • Miqo'te Breeder - Jariq'a, returned to the Keeper tribe his parents came from, serving the role of breeding male. Only of a different kind. (Yes, this exclusively exists to serve my kinks. Sue me.)

Jariq'a was born in Thavnair to parents who were both traveling performers. His family lived in their own tiny home outside of the major settlements, somewhere in Vanaspati. So, it was often just the three of them unless his parents were out touring, as they began to do again once Jariq’a was old enough to take care of himself. When they were around they'd spend their time teaching Jariq’a everything they knew about song and dance, then when they were gone he would switch gears to studying the alchemy of his homeland.Rather than sit at home alone when they were gone, there was an alchemist at the Great Work who would allow the young Jariq’a to loiter around his workspace during the day; provided he stayed completely out of the way. So Jariq'a would simply take up a bunch of the old textbooks lying around and read. Jariq'a found that he had a fundamental grasp of alchemy at a fairly young age and the alchemist found he had accidentally created an apprentice in the process. He continued Jariq’a’s education himself after noticing his aptitude, an education which lasted until Jariq’a had come of age.-Upon reaching eighteen, Jariq’a’s parents invited him to join the troupe they regularly toured with, something he leaped at the chance to do. With time and effort, a handsome young miqo’te like him naturally found himself the star of the show. Dancing alongside his mother and the rest of the troupe to his father’s beat, he enjoyed touring on and off for a few of years.During one such tour through Eorzea a group of men from Ul'dah approached him after one of his shows in the area. They were very straightforward and simply offered him payment for sex. Jariq’a spent entire days considering their offer, knowing his troupe was never particularly wealthy. He nervously accepted on one of his last nights before the was set to move to their next location. He had to sneak off in the middle of the night to do so, since he didn't want his parents to find out about him accepting such an offer. Over time, the men reach out to Jariq'a more often as his show repeatedly comes to Ul'dah. Them and a seemingly increasing number of their ‘friends’, until it’s finally time for his troupe to move on to the next city.Eventually, Jariq’a found himself back in Ul'dah and the same men now offer him aphrodisiacs to try, which he again nervously accepts. Gradually he warms up to the drugs to the point he begins to use them regularly, then even more gradually it becomes an addiction. They stop paying him entirely, instead offering him the aphrodisiacs as a way of payment. He even begins to utilize his own skill in alchemy to brew his own, and by this point Jariq’a is sneaking out to them night after night. His doing so had become something of an open secret among the troupe. Something most of them knew but none openly discussed. On one particular night one of the aphrodisiac vials hit him especially hard. He doesn’t remember anything after that, he only remembers waking up in the aftermath. His whole body shakes beyond his control and even the faintest touch makes him jump. He realizes he's been permanently affected by that same bottle that over-sensitized him the night before, and that that sensitivity is now constant. Permanent. Though it's strength fades, it never completely goes away.-One more year passed. Jariq’a was still sneaking out at night, to even his own shame now. Then, suddenly his world changed. The calamity happened. The day it happens Jariq'a had run off since the morning. He’s entirely unharmed as Dalamud falls, and in fact he's not even entirely aware of it. Not until he returns to the troupe in the middle of the night.Unfortunately, they weren’t nearly as lucky. Some members were killed. His parents are both permanently injured in the aftermath and he wasn’t there for any of it, or even aware of it. Something in him shifts. Seeing some of his friends gone, seeing his parents barely alive. He began to blame himself for not being there for them, for being as selfish as he had been over these past few years. When they had all recovered enough to return to Thavnair, Jariq'a does not go with them. He didn't feel he was worthy.Instead he stays in Ul’dah and takes up alchemy again, joining the alchemist’s guild in an effort to search for a way to heal his parent’s lingering ailments. He eventually realizes that he can only get so far with the guild and it's limited resources.-Luckily, after years of obsessive work, he is extended a special offer to study in Sharlayan. He spent a number of years there as well, studying alchemy. In fact, he was well on track to become an Archon due to his work. However, he ultimately comes to the conclusion that alchemy isn't going to bring him that miracle cure he’s searching for, leading him to abandon the study of it for the study of healing magic. He takes up nouliths and instead begins to train as a Sage, hoping to make progress towards his cure. The scholars of Sharlayan are none too happy with him for abandoning his work on the verge of so many breakthroughs and tensions grow between them until he decides to abandon the Studium as a whole, as his study of magic hadn’t brought him to the breakthrough he wanted either.-As a last ditch effort, he turns to the wider world and becomes an adventurer. Jariq’a returns to Eorzea and takes up various jobs, hoping his travels will lead him to something useful. Anything at all. Anything he can use to heal his parents. Then Hydaelyn speaks to him for the first time and the Scions of the Seventh Dawn extend him an offer, one he can’t very well refuse given their resources and various expertise. Although their relationship begins as purely transactional, that is still where it begins. Over his initial months with them he genuinely grows to care for his comrades there, seeing the way they seem to understand his obsession. Once again he begins a new life with new allies to help him pursue his goals, praying that he eventually finds what he's looking for.

A Realm Reborn

  • Initially saw The Echo as a burdensome responsibility.

  • Still obsessive over healing his parents.

  • Began his journey in Limsa Lominsa due to a personal interest in the Arcanist's Guild. Was never an Arcanist himself, but took a scholarly interest in their method to magic and studied the subject very briefly.

  • Would have been far less likely to join the Scions had anyone but Y'shtola been his introduction to them.

  • Was aware of Alphinaud and most of the Archons before meeting them personally. He didn't expect Alphinaud's ego to actually match his reputation, alas...

  • Performed his adventuring duties somewhat reluctantly, saw them as a means to reach more important goals.

  • Of the various heads of state, he initially respected Merlwyb the most.

  • Found a friend in G'raha during the events at The Crystal Tower because they spent time looking through said Tower together for potential healing methods from the Allagans. Though they found nothing of note, they came to respect each other's expertise.

Heavensward

  • Was close with both Haurchefant and Ysayle, misses them dearly.

  • Cold to Aymeric in the beginning, but became close allies by the end of the war.

  • Has a personal interest in seeing life in The Brume improved, maintains a distaste for most of the former aristocracy.

  • Learned he was annoyed by Moogles.

  • Engaged in a one-night fling with Emmanellain and is eternally embarrassed of it. Has threatened him multiple times to never speak of it. Honoroit knows. Also served as his first sexual activity since before The Calamity.

  • Made friends with Sidurgu and loves to tease the Au Ra about how he's "become a father". Sidurgu doesn't stop him.

Stormblood

  • Detests the Garlean Empire but is still drawn into the conflict very reluctantly, all the way until he witnesses Zenos cut down his allies.

  • Wanted to personally oversee Y'shtola's recovery but was dragged to the other places people decided that he was required instead.

  • Almost refuses outright to meet with any representative of the East Aldenard Trading Company upon reaching Kugane, on account of his personal hatred for Lord Lolorito in the wake of Raubahn's rescue. Attended for everyone else's sake. Secretly not as hateful of Hancock as he acts like he is.

  • Bonded with Yugiri over their lack of familial contact, she became the first person he spoke to openly of his family.

  • Never quite sees eye-to-eye with Hien, nor fully understands his motives for disappearing like he did. Brought this up to Yugiri who turned it back on him by mentioning his family. Denied that they were comparable, but didn't quite believe that himself.

  • Despite his usual distaste for violence, he had the time of his life in the steppe during the Naadam and made strong allies with Sadu and Magnai both.

  • Has offered to personally help with Magnai's romantic woes. Was declined out of embarrassment and has kept the offer a secret.

  • After the fight against Tsukuyomi he was genuinely upset at the passing of Yotsuyu. He had detested her as a person, but found it hard to hate her as much after she had been given a new life. Was always suspicious of Asahi.

Shadowbringers

  • Suspicious of the Exarch from the moment he denied any knowledge of G'raha.

  • Called upon Feo Ul readily. Perhaps even too much.

  • Cares deeply for Ryne and still visits her regularly, when possible.

  • Dulia-Chai also attempted to dress him up similarly to Alphinaud. He somehow managed to avoid this.

  • Reasons that since their bodies did not age during the years the other Scions spent in the First, they simply received extra years to their lifespans. Would be jealous of them for that reason if not for the literal end of the world occurring.

  • In the end he pitied Vauthry more than anything else.

  • Close friends with all the patrons of the tavern in the Crystarium, particularly Granson. Protective of Taynor.

  • Broke down upon learning the Exarch's identity and returning to his room. After the speech the Exarch had given him about what his true desires were before ascending Mt. Gulg, then the revelation that he was trying to spare Jariq'a's life at expense to his own, Jariq'a finds a new level of respect for G'raha. Vows to save him from Emet no matter the cost, which at the time appears to be his own life, thanks to light corruption.

  • Finds no common ground with Emet-Selch despite learning the story of Amaurot and the Ancients. Jariq'a is never able to justify Emet's actions even from Emet's own perspective.

  • Grows suspicious of Hydaelyn upon learning she is a primal. Wonders to himself if being the Warrior of Light means he is tempered to some degree.

  • The lingering effects of light corruption causes his eyes to glow, but has no effect on his health.

Endwalker

  • Is still somewhat ostracized in Sharlayan upon his return, if not more than before due to his connection with the Scions.

  • Would easily have started a fight with Fourchenaut before learning his true motives for behaving the way he did.

  • Attempts to befriend Jullus once the Garleans are brought to the Grand Company's camp. During one of their conversations Jullus urges him to spend time with his family while it's still an option.

  • Does not reconnect with his parents even once he returns to Thavnair for the first time. Jariq'a only sees them again once he returns for the second time, during the final days. He rushes to save them while traveling through Vanaspati. However, even after that he's kept so busy by his duties that they barely have time to speak until the crisis passes. He finally returns home for a long vacation after he heals from the injuries Zenos gives him.

  • In fact he reconnects with his old mentor at the Great Work first, who has since retired.

  • Finally gives up on his search for a cure once they do finally reunite.

  • Deeply connects with Hermes, wishes his fate had been avoidable.

  • Doesn't initially know how to answer Venat when she asks if his journey has been worth it. By the end he decides his answer is a definitive yes.

  • Finds a friend in Zero after long enough. She's the only Scion who can match his spice tolerance.

  • Returns to his studies in Sharlayan, focusing now on the study of Dynamis/Akasa. Investigates was to utilize it to alter the body via aether-thinning ingredients. It's dangerous work, but eventually he produces the equivalent of a partial-fanastia which allows the user to change one body part at a time. Extremely expensive to produce, but a breakthrough nonetheless. He was awarded his Archon's tattoos for this feat.

  • In the months before Wuk Lamat seeks him out he opens his own alchemy shop in Radz-at-Han, as well as takes on a few apprentices The pair of twins, Phos and Xerin, who sought to learn from him - about music and alchemy respectively.

Dawntrail

  • In order to make the trip to Tural, Jariq'a passes off the management of his store to his two apprentices, leaving it with them while he's gone.

  • Had known Koana during his first stay in Sharlayan, but was unaware of his true identity the entire time. They're exes, and Jariq'a is incensed when he realizes his old ex and the Second Promise are the same person - they argue a lot.

  • While he takes a backseat to the journey of the Promises and mostly observes, he enjoys his time learning of all the people of Tural.

  • Hesitates to return to Tuliyollal after the dome appears and Zoraal Ja first attacks - after what happened in Vanaspati and the look on Erenville's face, he initially wants to rush to the dome himself.

  • Suspects from the beginning that Sphene is not as she seems, but isn't quite sure why.

  • Shutting down Living Memory is painful for him. He's very aware that he might not have been able to do it if his own parents resided there, even knowing they're not real.

Alphinaud

  • Found him insufferable until the aftermath of the Crystal Braves' betrayal. Did his best to help him recover mentally afterwards.

  • Does his best to steer Alphinaud in the right direction, still.

  • Once Alphinaud took up his father's nouliths, Jariq'a helped to train him.

  • As the scion he's spent the most time with, the two are closer than most.

Alisaie

  • Respects her drive more than any other Scion, even if her efforts may occasionally be misplaced.

  • Trains with her regularly. She insists she will beat him one day and he believes her.

Thancred

  • Extremely resistant to Thancred's initial advances on him, to the point he ends up slapping the man.

  • Respects who he has become and how he has grown, but is well aware of how infuriating it was to watch the process - particularly in regards to Ryne.

Urianger

  • Will personally beat him within an inch of his life if he ever pulls the fake subterfuge act again.

  • Often appreciates his insight as a scholar and a friend.

  • Constantly nudging him towards reconciliation with Moenbryda's family, as he knew them too from his time as a student. Happy it finally happens in Endwalker

Y'shtola

  • The Scion he holds in the highest regard as a scholar.

  • Often assists with her research and asks for her assistance in turn.

  • Both had privately discussed the potential for Jariq'a to return to Sharlayan and receive his Archon's mark. She encouraged him to do so.

G'raha

  • Very personally invested in each other's studies, even if neither fully understands the topic of the other.

  • Extremely fed up with G'raha's self-sacrificing tendencies, to the point he's become protective.

  • The first Scion he turns to when he needs someone to accompany him

Krile

  • Disagrees with her own assessment that she is a hindrance to the scions in battle, wishes she would reconsider.

  • After the events in Eureka the two of them have become closer than the other scions realize. They often assist each other in administering medical care to the other Scion's. Or at least when Jariq'a is able to join her.

  • Has endless sympathy for her when she meets her parents again. He doesn't think he'd handle such a quick parting with as much grace as she did.
